Current Activity: Procrastinating

Tomorrow morning at 8:30 am I have been requested to submit a 7 to 8 page paper (10 pages maximum) on some aspect of Canadian Politics (not including foreign policy or the governor general). My chosen topic of discussion is political parties versus pressure groups, which is more effective? Including a case study of the Christian Heritage Party and the Canadian Council of Churches. It is currently 5:55 pm, Thursday night, and I have one title page, 1.3 pages of text, and one works cited page. I have approximately 14 more hours to complete the rest. And instead, I am posting on xanga.
Procrastination aside, please cast your ballots on who you think will win, political parties or pressure groups? At a later date I will post the results.

Edit: My hands smell like onions, this is going to seriously detriment my progress.

I have a kitty!

Well guess what everybody?!?!?! I, Deborah Grace Ludwig, am now a proud pet parent. I am now the owner a darling little black and white kitten that has yet to be given a name. Jake found two little kittens about a week and a half ago, and since they have longer hair, they won't make good farm cats, so he wanted to get rid of them, and I got one! It is so small, we're pretty sure it's a girl, and still very shy. Right now she is hiding behind my bookcase.
How do you think I got my parents to agree? Well... I didn't, I just took it home... hehe! But she's just in my room, for now anyways, and they won't even notice.
I do feel like I'm having that new parent feeling though. Last night I got maybe 2 hours of sleep altogether, because I was so aware of all the noises she was making, and I couldn't relax and fall asleep. I watched her from my bed for a long while, when she actually dared move about because she didn't think I was around. I was happy to see her poo and pee in her litter box, and play with something she found on the floor. But she wouldn't stop meowing, and it is the squeakiest little meow that sounds like she's asking "meow?" and so heartwrenching I thought it meant she was scared, and I wanted to cuddle her. As of right now, it's kind of hard to get your hands on her, but we've had some good snuggling already. I was very happy to hear her purring this morning as I scratched her. I think things are going quite well so far, and I hope they continue to get better and she isn't scared of me or people anymore.
So people, any suggestions for names? I've been calling her all sorts of cutesy names like Princess and Peanut and Muffin, but I can't put my finger on anything I really like. As soon as I'm able, I'll post some pictures of her, she's darling.
And Beth and Katie: you will love her.

First things first, I love having a laptop. Example: right now I am cuddled in my bed with my laptop, listening to music and writing this xanga post, and that rocks.
Last night Peter and I went to Thunderbird Equestrian Center and took part in a horse auction. Here is a picture of the horse I bought:

Okay I actually didn't buy a horse, but it would have been awesome if I did. Peter really wanted to buy one, and some were only selling for $1000! But we saw one that got sold for I think $73,000. Isn't that nuts? There are these crazy horse people there, and they have these books with all the horses that are going up for auction and what their blood lines are and how much their parents and sisters and brothers and grandparents etc. made at races. It's crazy. And these kinds of horses are thoroughbreds and really jittery as Jake explained to us, and some of them were kind of freaking out. And I never have been to a real auction with a real auctioneer, but they sound so weird! It's like they're speaking gibberish! How are you supposed to understand them? It kind of sounds like a weird kind of dance music sometimes. I definitely bopped along to the auctioneer once in awhile. I just gotta tell you all, horse auctions are pretty cool.

Look at the auctioneers cowboy hats. Cool hey?
After the auction, we played with a whole bunch of kittens. I love kittens!!!!!!! I wish I had about 5 kittens, at least. They are so cute and cuddly and so much fun. This is me with a little black kitten named Mikey, I believe.
I wish I lived on a farm, with all kinds of animals. I'd like to have 7 kittens (or more), 4 horses, and a dog. That would be awesome.
